Dorothy Ma is Special Counsel for KPB Immigration.
Dorothy has been with KPB Immigration since 2017 and has transitioned to a Special Counsel role since 2023. She focuses her practice on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), removal defense, and affirmative and humanitarian forms of reliefs particularly naturalization and U-visas applications. She has won numerous clients asylum, cancellation of removal, guardianships in family court, U-status, and expungements.
Specializing in immigration law since 2014, Dorothy began her practice in the public sector first as a Staff Attorney with Asian Law Alliance and then as a Supervising Attorney with Amigos de Guadalupe. At both nonprofit organizations, she assisted underserved clients with completing immigration applications for naturalization, AOS petitions, VAWA self-petitions, I-751 waivers, U-Visas, and DACA. Through her experience, she learned that her passion was in assisting numerous clients from diverse immigrant communities in Northern California and beyond. This is what brought her to KPB.
Dorothy brings 10 years of experience representing clients before USCIS, Immigration Court, and appearing in civil and criminal matters in Santa Clara, San Mateo, and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She is fluent in English, Vietnamese, and conversational Spanish bringing with her a multicultural perspective to her practice, ensuring effective communication and understanding with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Dorothy is licensed to practice law in the State of California. She received her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in May 2014, following her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from Santa Clara University in June 2010. In her free time, Dorothy enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, listening to K-Pop, and volunteering with animal rescue organizations.
